"Seinfeld" without the wit, humor, sarcarsm, mordant social commentary, etc. From the nauseating theme song to the "cute" interplay between the projections of shallow Yuppies as they would like to see themselves, I could never stomach more than 5 minutes of this show. I was never the biggest fan of "Seinfeld", and the show was comprised of nauseating, self-absorbed characters too, but at least they were...for the most part, anyway...funny, even occasionally hilarious. The characters in "Friends" not only have no semblance of reality (do any of them work? do any of them do anything other than drink coffe and bullshit with each other all day long?), but are sickening to boot. What's to celebrate about (much less laugh about?) such empty people in a world full of tragedy and turmoil? People I like liked this show, and I still shake my head in incomprehension.

Most over-rated show in tv history

Another horrible sitcom from NBC. I just don't understand why so many people love friends (as well as a slew of other horrendous sitcoms that NBC aired from the late 90s through a couple of years ago, including Seinfeld and Will and Grace).  The characters are idiots, and it's next to impossible to feel sorry for them when something goes wrong. For some unexplainable  reason, a lot of people will watch any sitcom based on idiot characters living in NYC.

Sorry I never got this show. I mean who really has friends like this. And what was up with that Huge NYC apartment,at least try to make it realistic...

I'm not a big fan, in fact I'm not a fan at all, but its a long way from the worst thing ever to hit a TV screen.

I understand the knocks on this show- it was totally removed from reality, and every show...virtually every humorous line revolved around sexual innuendo. Additionally, some of the characters could be annoying at times. Despite all of that, there was a chemistry there that made for a fantastic show. Doesn't belong on the list in my opinion.

This show does suck, but it's not the worst show ever.

Don't really like to watch the show, but there was a precision in the writing and humor that deserves respect.

This is about as unrealistic as you can get. Where in the world is this idyll existing?

friends was a great show though i didnt watch it on a consistent basis. i catch it on reruns though. each cast member has made a name for themselves equally. this show some of the best interaction between cast members

I would just like to say how wrong all people are who say that Friends is a bad show. It is the best show I have ever seen on television. The writing is excellent and the actors are talented people. I own all ten series and I hope that all the other huge fans out there will join me in saying Screw you Friends haters,you don't know what your talking about Thank you for your time.

Friends is the all-time, unequivocable WORST BEST SHOW in TV Past, TV Present, and TV Yet to come. If you are a dude, and you found this show hilarious, I regret to inform you that you are either a homosexual or a latent homosexual. In other words, a women with a strong gaydar would look at Dude who loves Friends, and suffer a stroke just from looking at him because his excessive gayness would jam her skull like an squadron of Navy EA-6B Prowlers jamming an isolated Iraqi SAM site. The creators of Friends essentially wrote the script under the premise that all 6 characters were Gay dudes, and the network simply replaced 3 gay dudes with 3 cute women. When it comes to overt gayness, Friends makes Will&Grace look like American Sportsman. Now that we know the show is gay, THE SHOW IS NOT FUNNY!!!!!!! For years my wife would tell me Friends was on. I'd watch and realize, God, this is not even as funny as Mr. Belvedere; in fact, it is not funny at all. But I would watch, stare at it blankly (though I did like seeing Jenifer Aniston's cute little mouse-toosy). By Season 7, I voiced my refusal to watch the show. I can honestly say I never recall laughing at any of their horrendous double entendres or overwrought stupidity like Rachel getting a turkey stuck on her head. It's hilarious to read about the lawsuit where one of the members of the Friend's staff is suing NBC for excessive lewdness and sexual harrassment. These so-called WRITERS?? would gather around a table and say things like (I kid you not) Okay let's develop a script where Ross's face is covered in Swine Feces and Phoebe is being gang raped by a pack of elephants. Storyboard. [I hope the plaintiff gets Big $$$] Of course today's 20somethings and 30somethings love Friends. Maybe that explains why when I go on business trips, and go out for a drink or two on my own, and note that the young men and women just seem so uninteresting and so out of touch. It's cause the Yutes of today love shows like Friends and Will & Grace, and disdain shows like Seinfeld (too Semitic and angst-ridden for them) and Mystery Science Theater 3000 (don't get it). Rant Complete.

A couple of bad moments, but I always liked this show. However I'm glad it's gone since people will stop talking about it and it was a bit overrated.

The writing and acting stayed pretty good throughout the entire run of the show, so I wouldn't consider it one of the worst.

Third -rate show written from a white gay male prospective, this show reeks, I won't even go into the lack of people of color (if crackers want their racial purity fantasy I say let them have it) the show on it's merits is one of the most unfunny shows I have ever seen. The gay white males who wrote this piece of dogspit must have been laughing all the to the bank for the last 10 years( this show is about gay white male relationships no st8 person would have friendships like these.) and now in syndication, you can watch these pathethic human beings attempt to act.

Relate to the relationship aspect? Come on! I'm almost 19, and can relate more to Pokemon (wanting to be a hero) and Star Trek (the desire for knowledge, an Eden-esque Earth) than the mindless, smutty show that is Friends.

I like this show. It's in New York, the characters are attractive and funny, and I think that mainly everyone over 12 can relate to the relationship aspect.

THE WORST SHOW EVER ENOUGH SAID

Friends is the best sitcom of all time. Every friends episode their is you are bound to laugh! The cool thing about Friends is that its not like every other typical sitcom where it's constant jokes, their is so much humor but yet it can be shocking and serious for a minute. It is the best sitcom of all time and it sure as hell beats out Seinfeld (which by the way is such a dull show).

The plots are silly and at times unbelievable. The humor is just so-so. I always feel bad after watching an episode-kind of the same way I felt after watching 'Gilligan's Island'.

Friends is pure trash. It is a waste of time to watch it.

This show is dumb, boring, repetitive, and unfunny. And people think I'm crazy for not liking it.

I will never understand the popularity of Friends. I think it is one of the most asinine TV shows I have ever watched. It's supposed to be geared towards adults, but most adults I know outgrew those sex jokes, fat jokes, and jokes about body parts and bodily functions before we were even out of high school. Also, they seem to use the same five plots and jokes over and over again. (How many times are Ross and Rachel going to get back together and break up again before their friends finally shoot them and put them out of their misery?) The characters are overexaggerated, cartoonish, and unlikeable. The acting is just plain bad. The writing staff must be made up of adolescent males and teenybopper girls. It pisses me off that great shows like NewsRadio and Wings get ignored and treated like crap while this mega load of toxic garbage is highly praised. I respect the fact that a lot of people seem to like the show, but I think it is one of the worst shows in TV history.

Anyone who doesn't like Friends can only be described as an old fart. It's meant to be funny, exagerated and something to make us laugh for half an hour.
