Sunflowers are very hard to take care of, but the seeds are worth it all.

I hate these oversized composites, good only for there seeds in the larger varieties.

I have always been fascinated by these flowers. My mother let me plant some in our backyard when I was young and I remeber how neat it was to watch them grow. They seemed more special than the other flowers becuase they were so big.

Vincents painting 'Sunflowers' is one of the most extroadinary painting. it is one of the most common due to its originality. there are also alot of differnet versions, one of my favourites is 'four sunflowers' which is a contrast to the original. In the painting the sunflower petals seem like flickering falmes. However in the painting pale yellow is still the dominant colous accompanied by blue, orange, red and green.

If a smile were a flower, it'd be a sunflower. Something about them is just so . . . happy. There's just nothing quite like a huge, yellow sunflower which is as tall if not taller than you.

Warm, generous, magnificently earthy flower. I've grown them just because I like to watch them swaying in the summer breeze and think of Van Gogh's paintings.

I'd choose the majesty and boldness of the sunflower over the wimpy rose any day. Sunflowers add structure and texture to the garden, and they come in an amazing array of varieties and colors, including white, lemon yellow, mahogany, and bright orange. I like to plant several different kinds in my garden and see what comes up. Planting sunflowers is a great way to attract birds, of course. The smaller birds (goldfinches, in particular) prefer the multi-branched, small-headed sunflowers, so I always make sure to plant a lot of those. Sunflowers are really easy to grow, too. They don't require lots of additional water, and they love sunny, hot conditions. I've actually had luck growing sunflowers in pots. Sunflowers even look great in floral arrangements. I see huge bouquets of sunflowers at the farmers' market every summer, and they are spectacular. I've noticed that the sunflower is becoming trendy lately, and I'm not surprised.

I don't like the smell of Sunflower's and I don't like the taste of their seeds. Yuck!!!
