More badass nutcracker than "big man." Graham protected Thompson's bigs by any means possible. Out with bad grades after a season. Fierce man.

If Michael Graham would have stayed at Georgetown. The team was bound to win 3 National Titles.

Mistakenly, Posted in another Authors Comment Forum.Aware this THREAD is old.Perhaps, I can shed more light on Michael Graham. Some friends and myself were discussing Mike Graham a couple of weeks ago.We were discussing the Grestest Players to come out of Washington D.C.Michael Graham name came up.Michael Graham in High School and College was as Great as Elgin Baylor, Dave Bing, Austin Carr, Adrian Dantley, David Robinson, Grant Hill, and Len Bias whom made their Fame and Fortune in the NBA.Only Len Bias never made it to the NBA. The 1st four Luminaries were High School All Metropolitan in Washington D.C. Innerhigh Basketball. The others mentioned are from the surrounding Maryland and Virginia Areas.I can assure you, it is easier to become an OBAMA Administration Staff Member than it is to become a two (2) or three (3) time All Metropolitan in D.C. Athletics. Michael Graham was a two time All Metropolitan Washington D.C. Innerhigh Basketball, 1982-83http://www.dcbasketball.com/2TimeAllMetro.html1983, Fourth Team All American.http://www.dcbasketball.com/HighSchool.htmlAn aside, Len Bias was 1982 All American in D.C.Elgin Baylor, Austin Carr, and Adrian Dantley hold the distinct Honor of being three (3) time All Metropolitan.http://www.dcbasketball.com/3TimeAllMetro.htmlThe Great Dave Bing was a one time All Metropolitan with Spingarn High, 1962http://www.dcbasketball.com/AllMetroTeam.htmlBeloved and Renowned Sports Announcer James Brown (JB) of Harvard Fame, Former Moderator FOX NFL Sunday; current Moderator CBS NFL Today, ShowTime Inside the NFL is a two (2) time All Metropolitan in D.C. Innerhigh Basketball, 1969.http://www.dcbasketball.com/2TimeAllMetro.htmlBack to Michael Graham !!!!!!!!!!!In an era when Sports Analyst with the Power of Brent Mussburger could make you or break you.It didn't HELP Legendary Sportscaster, Analyst, Commentator and Announcer Brent Mussburger, constantly criticized Michael Graham's style of Play every game.Publicly BAD MOUTHING him, calling him a THUG. I don't recall this happening in the History of College Athletics.Brent Mussburger has done so much good for the game making it fun to watch, nicknaming Gus Williams, "The Wizard". Former guard with Washington Wizards.Nicknaming, Fred Brown, Downtown Freddy Brown former guard with Seattle Supersonics because of his range to shoot clutch jumpers 25-30 feet.In spite of Brent Mussburger's negativity levied at Michael Graham for his style of play. His stock was high during his first year at Georgetown.Personal hardship the passing of his father and becoming the Patriarch of his family forced him to enter the NBA Draft his freshman year.Unfortunately, Michael Graham wasn't selected by any teams in the NBA Draft. The Greatest Player(s) never make it to the NBA.Neither did Harlem Playground Legends of Rucker Basketball Fame; Earl Manigault, Herman Helicopter Knowlings, Joe The Destroyer Hammond, and Pee Wee Kirkland.Pee Wee Kirkland has scored 100 and 135 pts in two (2) separate basketball games.Michael Graham is in Good Company.

good athletic big man who was key contributer to Hoyas 84 championship...could've had great career, however struggled in school and transfered rafter freshman year and went to University of District of Columbia

Never should've been admitted to Georgetown----a joke of an academic record. He ended up transferring to that academic stalwart U of DC, where another bust ended up, Earl Jones. However.....that's par for Georgetown's course: drastically reduce admissions standards for basketball players only, just like Johns Hopkins does for lacrosse!!!!

Michael Graham was a bit before my time, but people still talk about him with awe. Shaved head, ferocious on the boards - I think he was a transfer from UDC. I don't think he ever made it to the pros, but he was a big part of the Hoya Paranoia of the early / mid eighties.
