12/23/2004 | Immediately speaking, it will give your career a boost. However this isn't the way to earn your colleauges respect. Personally I have little tolerance for people who advance in the workplace without having any significant accomplishments. Almost every office has management who made it to the top due to brownnosing, and these types have the biggest complex you'll ever find.

12/23/2004 | I've seen it done time and time again with positive results for the brown-noser and it makes me sick!!!!!!! Actually, if anyone ever tried to brown-nose me, I would be insulted.

12/23/2004 | Even when its seems a little fake, bosses don't mind this. I try to stay on my boss's good side, but I will never say anything insincere just for the brownie points.

12/23/2004 | These people make me sick. Their out for themselves and themselves only. Theres a difference between working hard with others and pissing on people to get where you want no matter what. I'll leave brown-nosing to those people who don't have a conscience I want to sleep peacefully at night.

12/22/2004 | In a lot of offices, this will enhance a career, not damage it. As long as the brown-noser doesn't care about the opinion of their colleagues, anyway.

12/21/2004 | Unfortunately, it seems that kissing butt is rewarding more often than not. Though they may be rewarded by those they suck up to, they're rarely well-liked by the rest of us, and those tactics are likely to backfire.
