Glen Acres is an amazing place where i have always felt safe and secure. I do not come from a christian family, as a matter of fact the only christian in my family besides myself now does not live anywhere near me anymore. This church is very close and does background checks and sets high standards to make sure that not only are children, teens, and adults all safe but are learning the truth in a fun and informative way. With games and special classes for younger children each child is learning with his or her age group, and if they are at a higher maturity level or higher level of understanding by a substantial amount, such as i was, they will be allowed into older and deeper classes. The staff at glen acres work many places, such as the youth minister is also a middle school teacher of computers, and he gets the kids and teens involved in many things such as praise band, teaching them to become leaders, and even working with technology. All leaders teach with high moral standards and have wonderful and very useful advice to keep to your standards and not stray. they men and women who work with everyone always try to be respectful and gentle in their dealings and i have only once seen extreme action taken in the church in any building i have been to. An arrest was made but as i learned during and after the event it was necessary. i witnessed the arrest and the woman was not co-operating with the officer, let alone the leaders. In any case the elders acted wisely, as even in the bible in order to protect the congregation, and hopefully reach the offender and make things better for all, the offender who is disrupting the church with false accusations and immoral things (though from what i recall in this even there was nothing immoral the woman did but she did falsely accuse a man i know well and defiantly well enough to know she was speaking falsely) should be cast out of the congregation until they are able to control themselves and understand what they are doing wrong. No matter what this church, of which i joined as a kid with no parental help, is a place i feel safe and love being at. i learn alot not just about the bible but about life and history.

This is a strange and dying church--- Having been associated with this church for 35 years (since childhood) I found myself being taken out in handcuffs just a few Sunday's ago--- This was after listening for 46 minutes to a power point sermon of my life in public--detailing my supposed sins, many false accusations against me, and very personal private information all on public power point to humiliate and punish me------ What would be the sin you might ask?? The sin was having the nerve to ask for private conversations with the leadership regarding sins such as not turning in rapists in the past, an Elders wife's lesbian affair with a teenager and other such topics which were hurting people and keeping them from coming back to church. There will be no private conversations about the many pedophiles we were raised in the church with, there will be no accounting for not turning in a rapist--- nope--- they will just continue to threaten and drag people off in handcuffs if you even hint that you know about their sins----- So overall, not a suggested loving growing church-- the leadership hasn't even figured out how to protect children yet. Very sad church-- pray for them.
