Foursquare was founded in the 20's by Aimee Semple McPherson and has thousands of churches, missionaries, and outreaches all over the world. It is "right on" with it's Bible teachings. They are charismatic and believe in the born again experience, with Jesus Christ as Lord. (Add picture)

Today would be Aimee's birthday (the founder) and this is one of the best denominations there is in my opinion. Middle of the road Charismatic.

Their doctrine is in line with the Bible. They are a middle-of-the-road charismatic Pentecostal denomation, which I like a lot.

Well said, SenMailman! Foursquare has quite a great history and I believe they are one of the very best denominations ever.

The "Foursquare Gospel" came about during an intense revival in Oakland, Calif. in 1922. As thousands gathered to hear the gospel, evangelist Aimee Semple McPherson described a vision God gave her, taken from Ezekiel's vision (chapter one). Ezekiel saw four faces (a man, a lion, an ox and an eagle). To McPherson, thos faces were like the four phases of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In the face of the man, she saw Jesus our Savior. In the face of the lion, she saw Jesus the mighty Baptizer. In the face of the ox, she saw Jesus the Great Burden-bearer. In the face of the eagle, she the Coming King, who is returning in power for the church. It is a complete gospel for the body, soul, spirit and eternity. It's a gospel that faces squarely in every direction: the Foursquare.

This has nothing to do with Messianic Jews as someone else suggested. It is a huge denomination and teaches the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

My favorite denomination. It is theologically correct. The history of Foursquare is amazingly wonderful. God bless Aimee for her wisdom and faith. The churches continue throughout the world, winning souls to the Lord.

More low church mopes trying to be Jewish Christians just like the First Century Church. Why don't they just cut out the middle man and go and join the synagogue?

International Church of the Foursquare Gospel is awesome! They are middle of the road in the way they operate their churches, yet keep with the theological doctrine of the belief in Jesus.

The best. I went to Angelus Temple a lot in Los Angeles and loved the sermonds, music, teachings, people, and the history of the founders. Thank God that Aimee Semple McPherson, a precious woman of God, had the courage and strength to do so much for Christianity.
