Like everyone before me basicly stated, he wasn't great, but he was very inspirational and important to the future of rock.

Richards is a Rock and Roll legend with good reason. His riffs made the Stones what they were. I should have probably given him the 5th star just for providing the inspiration for Johhny Depps role as Captain Jack in Pirates of the Carribean but it's about the axe.

Good at catchy riffs, but not the most skilled of guitarists.

Incompetent guitarist? Who would say such a thing? He's not as technically skilled as a few of the other folks i've given fives too, but damn, was he influential. The Satisfaction riff is unbeatable, and I love the guitar in Angie. How come the incompetent Ringo Starr always gets a spot on every great drummers list, but Iguana-man is always overlooked? My goodness. At least people don't think It's only Rock And Roll is actually a Britney song.

Before everyone attacks the poor old stoner because he's an incompetent guitarist, let me say this: Keef has created some of popular music's most inventive riffs and guitar solos. His leads on Sympathy for the Devil and Monkey Man are astounding, both musically and technically. Do not overlook him, do not discard him.
