My second fave on this list, only loses out to the mighty Steve Vai. Don't forget he's also part of the amazing instrumental prog-metal band called Liquid Tension Experiment, with fellow DT drummer Mike Portnoy, Keyboarder Jordan Rudess and legendary bassist Tony Levin. Arguably even faster then Vai at times; correct me if i'm wrong, but i think his notes-per-second rate on the guitar is over 23 (a record previously set by Vai)! His work with Liquid Tension Experiment is so much better than his work with Dream Theater (Although I love Dream Theater). He is a guitar GOD, up there with Satch and Vai. (He played with them on a G3 tour)

This man can play any style of music with his guitar from the most simplest of melodies to mind bending, complicated epics. He writes and plays beautiful music.
