I remember this from when I was little- in my need to fill up time between cartoons I would watch whatever else was on Fox that afternoon- usually this show, which was on at about 2 PM in my area if I recall correctly. I suddenly remembered it the other day and have watched a few episodes on YouTube. And you know something? It's not nearly as bad as I was afraid it would be. It's not great by any means, far from hilarious and far from well-acted, but it is funny and amusing in a Reagan-era kids-oriented sitcom kind of way. There are cerainly much better shows out there, but there are also certainly much, much worse.

Are you serious? How could you not like Small Wonder?? I grew up watching this show and I wish someone could put this out on DVD. Vicki was the best. Jamie was great too.

I liked Small Wonder! Shame on you people! It was one of the better shows that was good at the time and beat the crap out of watching the Cosby Show and Family Ties.

I thought this was a Great Show. I actually Have it complete On VHS. I never really watch it or anything, I just have it to have it. Its strange but if you really think about it, that show was ahead of its time. I would compare it to A.I. ( artifical intelegence) by Stephen Speliburg. WE have a Girl robot, & the reason she went to school Is so NO ONE WOULD think she is a robot by staying at home! All shows get cancelled sooner or later, espessially when its a show with mostly children characters, Hence Punky Brewster, Silver Spoons, Just the ten of Us, Etc. I like this show, but I do not anticipate seeing it in re-runs on TV. But I do see it comming out on DVD, like many shows are.

I have not seen Small Wonder in many years, I would also love to see re-runs, I even forget who the characters were, anyone make it big from the show?

I remember this show from when I was a kid. My little child mind thought it was pretty cool at the time, having a robot for a sister. The 70's and 80's were filled with high-concept shows like this, and most of them were pretty bad. Maybe if I saw an episode of Small Wonder now I'd think it was utter shite, but back then I was much less discriminating.

Hola from Lima, Peru; Small Wonder was first premiered on peruvian television back to 1987. I loved it from the first time, I was a pre-teen back then and used to record it on audio tapes some episodes before I could save to have a descent VCR. Regarding the original poster it's true that some of the last episodes were not good on my personal opinion the first season is the best of them all. Believe it or not, Small Wonder -La Pequeña Maravilla in spanish- is currently on the air here in Peru (South America) weekdays at 5 PM on Channel 2 Frecuencia Latina, nationwide tv station with a very good rating. This TV station brings Vicky the Robot out of their vaults everytime they need to improve its rating. Greetings from the land of the Incas! Let me know if you ever want to come to Peru and visit Machu Pïcchu since I work the Tourist Information here in Lima and I like to have friends from all over the world. ok... So Small Wonder was no Seinfeld comedy in it's day but it was a typical cheesy show of it's era. Yes I watched id some times, quite frankly I was too little to really care about this alleged pedophile dad or what ever all I knew was that this vicky broad was a cool ass chic. She kicked everybodies ass. My message goes out to the person who practically wrote an essay on the this freakin show. 1: You are a total loser who has no time on their hands for a normal life. 2: Get a job and get your ass off the couch. 3: stop smokin too much reffer when you watch these shows. 4: You over analysed the show you sick loser. I hope your life goes well. Elina- p.s. Small Wonder is the bomb. Thank You All Good night and Good DAy...

So call me a total geek, but.... I actually enjoyed Small Wonder when I was younger. I saw absolutely nothing wrong with this show (and I still don't). It was a comedy/fantasy, and it wasn't meant to be taken seriously. Actually, it's been several years since I've seen it; I'd like to see it in reruns someday.

I think Small Wonder was a very good show, I recorded all episodes and even got a poster. All actors were really funny, specially Vicky.

I've never actually seen an entire episode of this show, but judging by the scenes I've seen and the stuff I've read about it, I don't think I could sit through one!

Some shows are good, some show are bad, some shows are mediocre and forgettable. Others are pure evil from the pits of hell. Small Wonder is one of those shows. From the creepy opening theme song to the ugly and irritating actors on the show, to the disturbing premise and the stupid plots, this one had everything. Small Wonder is about a father who builds a robot daughter. The robot girl is about 10 years old and is essentially the families' slave, although they don't say that out loud. Nobody is to know about Dad's fine creation, and no real reason is given as to why not. The young son, Jamie, is a fat tub of shit with a weaselly voice, and is basically the kind of ugly-cute kid that every once in a while lands a TV job. He would be dead meat on the playground. We also have Harriet, the definition of ugly redheaded stepchild, who is the nosey next door neighbor kid. This brat is nails on the chalkboard, but never in a FUNNY way. In fact, nothing at all about this show was funny. It is sick. the Dad, casted to be a normal guy, comes across like a creep that you'd avoid having to talk to at any costs. The little robot girl is cute, I guess, but she's always wearing the same maid's outfit (I shit you not), sleeps standing up in a closet and speaks in a monotone voice. Now, you'd think that they'd want to keep their secret robot in the house, right? WRONG. Vicky the robot goes to school. That's right: super-intelligent robot that's supposed to be a secret, goes to PUBLIC GRADE SCHOOL. This show made my blood boil with hate whenever it would come on, and to this day I want to beat the hell out of that Jamie kid and Harriet the neighbor girl. Get this: the show was a fledgling FOX Network show a few years before FOX had officially signed up all the local networks under the FOX banner. This was a show they were trying to use to launch FOX, and since it was soo terrible it wasn't for another 3-4 years before FOX became a reality. That didn't stop them from making at least 3 years worth of Small Wonder shows. The show was ultimately cancelled because Vicky the robot started developing breasts. I guess the pedophile concept of creating a robot girl slave wasn't bad enough to get them to pull the plug on this; it was the Dad adding breasts on his little girl toy that they must have found objectionable. Imagine THAT storyline, won't you? Anyway, this show was easily the worst sitcom ever made, so bad in fact that it doesn't even have unintentional comedy value. TVLand will never play this one, mark my words.
