The Price is Right just won't be the same when Bob Barker leaves.

Nobody can replace Bob Barker on TPIR...he is a true classic.
shlammy 03/15/2006
he'll live forever!!!!!
doobiesNhof 03/15/2006
The best ever. Remember "Truth or Consequences"? "The Price Is Right" with Barker has been going strong for 34 years. Nobody else has even come close in the game show industry.
HistoryFan 03/15/2006
A classic. You either love him or hate him. There's no gray matter.
chriscavanaugh 03/15/2006
awwww he's ok. he is human,,i have seen him get cranky many times when a contestant takes too long to bid. my wife can't stand him,,but i watch the show anyway....Vanna White got her start in the biz by being a contestant on the show,,,,when those back-stage producers saw her coming on down in all her young beauty, and bob had a little chat with her,she told himm she had just arrived in california to become an aspiring actress. just after the show she was snatched up and signed on with cbs

with me I can take him or leave him.

He's good with the ladies just like myself.

Bob is now at least 80 years old isn't he? And yet he's till going strong as the host, and has as much enthusiam as a lot of the young contestants. He's cool, and he was born on my birthday which is a bonus.

On December 12th, 2004, it would be 81 years since a new human was born, a fellow with 1/4 Sioux Indian in him, a fellow who's managed to move forward in life after his pappy's death in his young life, a fellow whose second "Love of His Life" was found at first meeting during the high school years, a fellow who has had basketball experience, a fellow who survived basic pilot training in the U.S. Navy (but never went into battle as the second world war came to a close) and earned his wings, a fellow who had traveled to California to pursue a career in broadcasting (earning a program of his own, including a game show format similar to Price), a fellow's voice discovered by one Ralph Edwards as his successor on one national game show called Truth or Consequences, a fellow whose successful foray into television earned himself attention by one Mark Goodson for a game show revival, a fellow who managed to handle 2 games shows during the 1970s, a fellow whos been busy with pageants & CBS Pasadena parade coverage, a fellow who survived both deaths of the 2 holding the title "Love of His Life", a fellow who survived his own pursuit for animal rights, a fellow who survived "The Enemy Within" his success (and continues to do so), a fellow whos survived the departure of those responsible for him continuing his success, including 2 permanent departures from our world, a fellow who even has the strength to carry on a now 30+ year tradition on network television, and last but certainly not least in any way a fellow that even Richard Dawson would want to live up to, kiss wise. "A Fellow" was originally written to celebrate Barker's 81st birthday.

I want his job when he retires! Women are all over him STILL! As plus he got to beat up Adam Sandler in Happy Gilmore.

Four stars for sleeping with that girl on the show. . .
RainMan12 07/20/2005
After all these years,I would love to have his stamina to be with the Price Is Right. Also his libido with Barker's Beauties.
AndrewScott 07/12/2005
Time may have caused Bob Barker to look frail, but his easy charm and fun interactions with contestants on The Price Is Right knows no age. I had the pleasure of being in the studio audience for a taping a few years back, and even when the cameras weren't rolling, he had the exact same down-to-earth warmth that showed he loved his job and all of the people. He may be in his eighties, yet he still has a way of making many other game show hosts seem a step below in quality.

Except for his tendency to be a sex fiend, he's great. Interacts with crazed contestants VERY well. He needs to hang up the mic now, tho.

Bob Barker got five stars in my book the first time I saw the show as a kid. But recently I got to see the 81 year old host in action when I attended a taping of the show (Dec 8, 2004) made me realize that there should be a 6 star option for this star!
sperryc 11/08/2004
That Bob has anything other than 5 stars on this list is shocking to me. Bob is to daytime TV what Elvis Presley is to rock and roll.

heck ive been on the price is right and played plinko and won 13,575$ on plinko dident go to the showcase showdown round but air date was 4/3/02 im 22 i was 20 then
Ninobene 04/25/2004
C'mon, whether you were home from work or school, laying in bed having chicken soup, or a homemaker ironing clothes...who HASN'T watched Bob?! I still want to play Plinko.
ClassicTVFan47 03/13/2004
The immortal (literally!) Bob Barker. Getting his start with Truth or Consequences, he's hosted The Price is Right through more than six thousand awesome episodes! A great sense of humor, a good voice, he even gets into the game (see Hole in One-or-Two) from time-to-time.
kolby1973 03/04/2004
I never really cared for Bob Barker as a game show host at all. It is long time for retirement for him. But I did give him an extra star for Happy Gilmore. He was hilarious in that movie...
tdubya71 03/03/2004
Bob has made everyone forget that Bill Cullen was the host for the original Price Is Right. And he kicked Adam Sandler's ass in Happy Gilmore.
scoot1105 01/28/2004
THE BEST OF ALL THE REST!!! You can't argue with 50 years on television and 15 emmy awards.
