 | sld31879 (0) 08/02/2004 | Um in response to Irishgits' comment I have to point out that George Steinbrenner never hopped in his car and tried to run down trick or treaters for egging his house, which Albert Belle did. Also corked his bat when he was with the White Sox, and had the temerity to blame the Sox for trying to frame him, and was just generally a nasty guy. I'm just glad he left Chicago as soon as he did, and the O's got to deal with the sad end of his career. He's not as bad as Tyson but that's faint praise indeed.

 | Davis21Wylie (1) 06/11/2004 | Was immensely talented, could hit anything, and as far as I know never killed anyone, but that's pretty much all the nice things that can be said about him. Constantly mistreated fans and the media, culminating with his outburst in a Hannah Storm interview that left everyone speechless. When he was good for 150 RBI, his antics could be ignored; in the latter days with Baltimore, though, his sociopathic behavior could not be tolerable.

 | irishgit (146) 10/13/2003 | I don't know if anyone's noticed, but Belle is no longer really in sports anymore. And compared to reptiles like Tyson, King and Steinbrenner, he was never near the top of this list.

 | CanadaSucks (48) 08/24/2003 | Tough to find a bigger jerk in sports. . .his stats went downhill in direct proportion to his increasing contracts. The soft Cleveland sports media turned a blind eye to his antics. All Joey Bell wanted was his paycheck. . .it was never about the team or the fans. Try finding a Major Leaguer today who has anything really good to say about this punk.
