It really doesn't matter if you were a big time college football player in a big-time football school like Nebraska. If you drag your girlfriend (reportedly by her hair) down a flight of stairs- or choke her into unconsciousness, you aren't a man. Regardless of his stint as a professional football player and a versatile athlete of immense talent, he cannot be considered a man. In the sad case of Lawrence Phillips, he only proved he was nothing more than the jerk (and thug) which he is.
