Senator Fogbound has done his job. West Virginia is paved border to border. It's incredible how much taxpayer funds have been poured into the Robert Byrd Park at Harpers Ferry for instance. It's time to get his snout out of the trough and let someone else pig out for a while.

Ancient politician, yes he was with the KKK, yet it was wrong, but lets focus on his legislative record. He has single handedly helped West Virginia by bringing home the goods. Yes Byrd is a pork barrel politician but for a state which is very poor that is something you want. Absolutely a brilliant mind and a smart man.

Only senator with courage to stand up against President Bush. And guess what- he was 100% right and Bush was 100% wrong. A generally able senator who seems to do his constituents good justice in the Senate and knows the Constitution like the back of his hand. Unfortunately, at one time he didn't seem to think that it applied to blacks. Might be time to retire soon.

Perfect reason for term limits.

The pride of the Democratic Party- former Klu Klux Klansmen. The only Senator with the dubious distinction of voting against Thurgood Marshall, Clarence Thomas and Condi Rice. He thinks we talk about race too much and he's known many white nig*ers in his time. Meaning of course there still are black ones. The proclaimed conscience of the Democratic party fits right in with its members and reveals what the party truly is: a collection of interest groups competing for power to advance their agendas. Subsequently they will get in bed with anyone who will do so as the agenda being advanced what is valued not the character of the actual leader. Every wonder why liberals can't get a grip on the values issue? It's because they more aptly discuss valuables. This disgrace- Byrd, is a perfect fit in the Democratic Party.

This ex-Klansman is a disgrace to my party. He should just quit. He doesn't really like minorities and he certainly hates gays. He's past his time already.

while i don't doubt he has been a wonderful senator for the people of west virginia, i hope he retires soon. if he got paid by the word, he would be a multi-quadrillionaire
