 | GenghisTheHun (173) 12/22/2007 | Good King Wenceslas was one of the early Christian Kings and indeed may have been the first Christian King of that country. He looked out on the feast of Stephen which is December 26. St. Stephen was the first Christian martyr being stoned by the Jews and dying for his faith.
As the good king looked out, he saw a poor man gathering wood for fuel. The good king summoned his page and they went out to give the poor man a feast.
The page almost froze to death, but by treading in the good king's footsteps, he was saved by the miraculous warmth that remained in the good king's footsteps in the snow.
