I disagree with the reviewer below me who stated that South Park might be the stupidest show on television. South Park is crude and immature, but rarely unintelligent.

I actually like this show. It may be the stupidest show on Earth but it is pretty damn funny.

Hey, dsfsfsdfsd, they are rating south park 1 star because it says, very clearly, 5=worst.
South park, is perhaps the best show that has ever been on television. This is not because of the toilet humor, but because of what the toilet humor allows them to address.
This isn't the forum for me to address the literary devices, social commentary, and political satire that are fully engaged in South Park, but they're all there. I'm not looking for a fight, and this isn't the forum for it anyway, but I've written hundreds of pages on the topic. For a REAL "worst show" try "According to Jim" or any of those "reality" shows like "who wants to marry a millionaire"

Awesome show! Can't believe it would be on "Absolute Worst TV Shows". Apparently someone was offended by their humor (which I find funny in itself)!  ;-) 

Trashy, indecent, intelligent, nihilistic, low humour, unfit for children of all ages.

I haven't watched it since I gave up TV about seven years ago, so I can't comment on whether it's still funny or not, but I can say I enjoyed its 'take no prisoners' approach to satire.

I don't know that it is such a bad show, but South Park does come off as being crass and crude- not to mention inappropriate. But the very fact that it is such may actually make it appealing, as it does touch upon so many taboos many times too controversial to mention on television. However, this cartoon ought not to be mistaken as children's fare as it is anything but.

It's totally not my type of thing, but I love it. I have no explanation for it, guilty as charged.

None of it is really funny its just dumb, vulgar, cheap humor with the lowest quality of animation and writing possible.

The fact that this is even on the list of worst shows makes me sick.

Do not badmouth Southpark.It is an amazing hilarious show with a great Libertarian statement. I love this show with a passion. Very original and clever. It is quite funny and well written. A genius look at the world around us. This show broke the hell of political correctness in the late 1990s and showed how inventive and unique cutting edge adult oriented animation could be. It shows the outrageous adventures that Stan- the most normal of the group, Kyle- tthe jewish kid who is more compassionate, Kenny- the poor kid, Cartman- the obese bigot who hates Kyle and Kenny but still hangs out with the clic, and sometimes Butters- the cute innocent pathetic kid with insane abusive parents have to go on. A satire of everything the world holds dearly. Sure it is Crude, vulgar, and foul mouthed, but it is funny- America needs more of this humor- we would be happier with a few more laughs in our lives.

I suppose that many parents who haven't reviewed this foul mouthed smut let their kids watch it because it's a cartoon.

it has it's funny moments, but they're too few and far between for me to sit through the pointless vulgarity. call me simple or close-minded, but i just don't need to see four potty-mouthed, poorly animated kids in a show that looks like some middle-schooler put it together for a school project. the guys are making their money, i guess, that's all that matters.

Is this on the list so as to make sure everything doesn't get a 5.0 rating? I love this show, look forward to every hysterical episode. I have many recorded so I can refer back to them whenever I need to :)EDIT: actually I let my teenagers watch it because they are old enough to understand what it's talking about and also know I don't allow vulgarity in the house, and neither does their father, unless of course he's fixing the car ;)

southpark isnt bad at all, it is one of the greatest most ORIGINAL shows on tv. its probably all of the whiney liberals that hate on the show. whatever, matt and trey tell it how it is. i love them so much, they just are funny, for real, down to earth, and express the truth and dont beat around the bush. god bless them.

This is probably the most original show on TV. Just absolutely hysterical! The outsourcing episode: Der takin' ur jerbs! The Yennifer Lopez episode: I like tacos and burritos! The Jesus V Santa was started it all. I mean come on this stuff it just too funny. And how about the Trapper Keeper 2000 ? Or Beeeeffcakkkkee Beeeeeffffcaaakkeee! The Richers? And my personal favorite the Towlie episode!**** Update, Who said this was a children's show?? It's a show for adults about mature topics that are made in very crude but an absolutely brilliant manner. If you kids are up at 10pm watching in unsupervised who the hell's fault is that?

Southpark is one of the funniest shows on TV right now. The guys tend to push the envelope and their have been many shows when I wondered how they got away with it. The most recent one was where Mr. Garrison got a sex change. I had to change the channel because I thought I was gong to hurl. I did not like the movie because its funnier when they are bleeped out. How can Southpark be bad when it is funnier then 95% of the rest of the so called sit-coms on TV today.

I cannot watch this show, that's how bad I think it is. While I can see the point of the people on here that comment the show makes fun of everyone, equally, I find nothing funny about it. I've tried watching it a few times, but....it just leaves me cold. I can find a much better use for my time.

A very stupid, pointless, cartoon that will make funny of almost anything. So of course I watch it. My favorite episode has to be Scott Temorman must Die!

I just like the fact that somewhere on tv there are people that are equal opprotunity offenders and aren't afraid to be funny. These guys not only push the envelope, they wad it up and chunk it across the room.

Funny! Give me a show that has no sacred cow any day of the week. TV is way too tame. TIMMY!

Totally mindless and ignorant!

This show isn't too bad, really. Sure, it has a lot of bathroom humour and foul language, but think past it for a second. The show's real comedy lies in its satire. Take Cartman for example. He's racist, ignorant, arrogant, and a fat asshole. He's like this because some people are really like that and how annoying and stupid it is. And all of the gay and retard jokes are there to show people how rediculous they really are. Gay people and mentally challenged people are just like regular people, and South Park tries to show people that, especially with the Timmy and the Lords of the Underworld episode. You shouldn't laugh at him, he's retarded. I'm not laughing at him because he's retarded, I'm laughing at him because he's funny. If people realized what this show was really about, they'd stop whining about it.

While i respect the fact that many people enjoy this show, I just...can't find this funny. I'm sorry.

I was able to tolerate the first season without being too uncomfortable. After that it went downhill fast. I'm really sick and tired of shows such as South Park that find mocking my personal belief as a source of humor.

South Park isn't for everybody and I find it hard to catch because of my family and there is a lot of bad language, but hay, it's funny.

I used to love Southpark. Cartman, Mr. Hankey, The anal probe, the theme song by Primus. Haven't seen it since I disconnected from cable several years ago.

I realize that because of the rampant popularity this show has, I'm probably in the minority but I can't find anything redeemable about this show. I have no use for its crude material and constant obscene language. It's just useless- I also know too many children who copy what they have seen on this show. Simply awful.
