I wish he could stay healthy. He is a great talent and if he was durrable, I would vote him a five no questions asked.

EB is a high quality player from what is arguably the best college basketball program in the nation. However, as talented and reliable as he has proven to be, it appears that Brand's career will likely be characterized by these two features: 1. He will have played his prime years with the Clippers 2. He will have played during a period in NBA history that is filled with other talented power forwards (Webber, R. Wallace, Jermaine O'Neil (spelling?), Duncan and Garnett For these reasons he will probably never enjoy the acclaim and credit that he would otherwise enjoy at the end of his already impressive career.

At the 2004 All-Star Game, many talking heads (Stephen A. Smith, anyone?) hemmed and hawed about Carmelo Anthony or LeBron James being snubbed for the game. As usual, no one bothered to bring evidence to back up their claims. At the All-Star Break, Elton Brand was probably the league's third-best player, behind only Garnett and Duncan. He was also single-handedly keeping the Clippers near the playoffs. To say that he was shafted out of the All-Star fun was probably the largest understatement in NBA history. More disturbing, though, was the indignation on the commentators' part over Anthony's absence at the Game, when he was lagging well behind Brand in every statistical category... and if they had a meaningful way to measure defense, he would be trailing in that, too. I hope they didn't genuinely believe that Anthony was better, though the alternative was worse: that they took the side of the more popular Anthony over the unassuming Brand to boost their credibility. Either way, the pundits have got a lot to learn about exactly what wins basketball games.

I wish this player played for my favorite team, the Rockets. I like his game, and I think he can still improve. Tough on the inside, and a fearless rebounder.

A great scorer, boarder and blocker. His FG% is amazing. Compare his career to some players with help and he makes them dwindle in comparison. Sooner or later, he will be on a good team, and he will be a first-team all-star at center.
