not really surprised at her low ranking as her performance in the senate has been rather medicore. california must have done something rather horrible in a past life to have her and that dirtbag barbara boxer as their representatives in the senate.

I can't understand the low ratings given Boxer, but her patrician fellow senator from San Francisco irritates me to no end. No, Feinstein does not represent her own hometown. She supports capital punishment, the war in Iraq, and the Patriot Act ... what more do you need? Her life doesn't bear much scrutiny, either -- she's an immensely wealthy socialite who has made much of her money from her dad and a succession of three affluent husbands ...

I wish ther was a zero star rating. Her and the rest of the Democratic party out here is ready to turn the state over to Mexico. By the way, I'm Hispanic, a union member, and I interned at DNC in college.

Considers herself among the elite in that she doesn't want anyone to be able to carry a concealed weapon for personal protection except herself. She and Boxer are the two worst US Senators from California since 1850, both being elected on the heels of massive white flight from the state. Feinstein is liberal just for the hell of it, and because she knows that the new idiot population of immigrants in California will vote for her in knee-jerk fashion.

Political opportunist. Basically votes according to the polls, no consistency in any of her positions.

Poor Diane. She is saddled with that doofus of a fellow Golden State Senator, and the foolishness from that idiot reflects on Feinstein and drags down her rating.

I might not agree with Dianne Feinstein on most issues, but she is far-and-away a classier human being than her contemptious, vile, pretentious, unprofessional peer: Barbara Boxer. (For that matter, any one in the U.S. Senate is much more of a professional than Boxer.) But as far as Feinstein, she has represented California with respect and dignity (unlike Boxer). Though her politics tend to lean towards the left, Feinstein can be non-partisan when she needs to (for the good of the nation, and not for her political party nor for selfish personal ambition). And that has earned her the respect of even her most stringent detractors.
