I don't like Dirk, but I must admit he is good. He is one of only 2 7-footers I know that can shoot 3-pointers, and he can shoot midrange I believe. He is an excellent free throw shooter and is always among the league leaders. He is probably the best player on the Mavs.

Dirk may be starting to decline a little bit, but he's still one of the top power forwards in the game.

He is dominant and is contending for the MVP every year. He is so versitile and talented you have to vote him a five.

Dirk proved in the playoffs last year that he was a top 5 player in the NBA. He is provin' it again this year with his play and he's even improved as a leader. I think he's the second best player behind Steve Nash.

When ya back up and give Dirk space, he shoots the 3 pointer, when ya defend Dirk tight, he drives past ya to the hoop. He makes these off balance shots, he's unguardable.

Bobby Jackson was wrong about Dirk being a soft player. I'm tired of people assuming all white players are soft. In one game against the Spurs, Dirk got his tooth knocked out, instead of sitting out the whole game he came back and finished the game. Since Steve Nash and Michael Finley left, Dirk is finally becoming a leader. He doesn't settle for 3 pointers as much, now he drives to the basket. He's a fun player to watch and he's on a really good squad this year. If the national media actually paid attention, they would see an excellent b-ball player. I'm not a homer, but I think he's a top 5 or definite top 10 player.

Terrific offensive weapon- can shoot and still take it to the rack. . .moves well for a big man. . .but is not 5-stars because his defense is adequate at best. . .still, a solid all-star player. . .

A superior shooter who, despite being a bit soft on defense, is destined to make the NBA hall-of-fame. Usually averages a double-double for the season and, had it not been for Mark Cuban's ridiculously stupid idea to let Steve Nash escape (and then tell the world that he had improved his team's defense!!??) he would probably be plying his talents in the league finals for years to come. Some people just have no idea. It seems that Dirk is suffering from some racsist thinking by some of the reviewers in this poll. Either that, or they just know what they're talking about.

He and Kevin Garnett are the NBA's version of Peyton Manning: simply can't get it done when it matters. Dirk is defintely one of the more talented players of the NBA, but is really an overblown version of his German predescesor, Detlef Schrempf. And at least Det could play some defense. Schisse!

This guy is a pansy and a flopper. He does shoot the ball very well, but you've got guys like Allan Houston who shoot it better who can't get their team to a title either! His form at the free throw line is girly and displays an ugly form. He buckles his legs in like a little girl. He does make a high % of free throws though. However, he not only gets away with murder when it comes to fouls but his read and recognition is horrible. You see people consistently exploit and dribble past a 7ft center, shoot over him, move him aside like he is a 7ft 99lbs wet STICK. Back to the fact that he has no vision and doesn't realize after all these years to get back ASAP on D. He seems confused when it comes to defense. Dampier is much better at his role than Dirk as far as usefulness and taking space up in the middle. He doesn't score as much as Dirk, but defense wins games too (He does foul a lot). Run more plays around Finley not Dirk and you might get a title. I hate to compare too much cause they all play Their game but he just shoots well and can easily be stopped. Just make him play D. on a faster player (Anyone and everyone in the league) and get his slow non-rhythm having a** in foul trouble and he is taken out of the game. Simple and YES it is that easy. Without him in he can't whine and complain for pity to the refs constantly about how immobile he is and how he can't move his feet. He's a lame player not too exciting for his team to rally behind. He has clutch capability but so do other players in the league. I dont see this guy as an All-star he just gets voted in under the NBAs white boy popularity contest. He gets 3 stars because yeah he can shoot... WOOOW! No, he can't rally his team and he is not much of a leader. He does stand out as a criticizer of players on his team and other teams that ARENT paid as much of him who ARENT overrated. Move your feet SH*THEAD it helps in basketball! NOT AN ALL-STAR!!

Dirk is really great but the only things hes showed me is offense!!Shooting and rebounding!!!How about that defense!!He could really work on his blocking effort since everyone says he can play both center and forward!!Hes great!!I really want to like him but until I see an improvement in defense, I cant give him 4 or 5 stars!!!

Where to begin with Dirk Nowitzki? A 7'0 German, who can dribble better than point guards, play in the paint better than any centre, and hit any jumper better than all the guards in the league. He is the God amung Basektball players... we all need to give respect to the greatest player Ever! Dirk will one day lead the Mavs to the title baby!

This man has had so many huge playoff performances. He can put up 30 so easily because he is 6'11" playing the 3 position (for the most part). He has uncanny shooting prowess and can handle the ball as well. Dirk is definitely a rare breed in the NBA.

He couldn't defend the top players, he can score on 'em, but he needs defense. If he improves there, he will be an eventual MVP.

He has everything...Plays offense great both inside and outside, runs the floor, and rebounds. He will only get better at this point in his career.
