For what he did to jump start the genre, he's probably the "great one" that everyone makes him out to be. I've been involved in the martial arts for 17 years now, and I still have trouble forming an opinion about him. To call him the greatest martial artist ever, as some have done, I think is an insult to all the thousands on other greats. Most people don't know any more about him than what they've seen in a movie. Well, of course he seemed awesome in the movies, because that was the point of the movies. He didn't even train in an actual martial art (wing chun) for that long. And, he didn't start when he was a little kid. He was like 17 or 18, and only did it for a couple of years before moving back to America.

The greatest!!! When I first saw him on The Green Hornet, I was freaked out. How could somebody be so fast and have such a devastating kick. Enter the Dragon is the greatest Martial Arts film of all time. Kill Bill was great also; but from pure martial arts, Lee should get an Oscar. I might not be out of line to say that if every man in the history of H. sapiens was entered into a single-elimination Ultimate Fighting tournament, Lee would be the last man to come out of The Octagon.

The brilliance of his technique, along with his individualism allowed him to break the Oriental stereotype that plagued Asian actors, at the time.

Best of all time. Lucky though, in the right place, right time, and his charisthma helped him follow his dreams
