Like others among the great rock guitarists of the '60s, he's become bored with rhythm'n'blues and tends towards rather intricate but tedious fusion these days. However, he gets a *5* based on his youthful achievments.

Innovative, original and interesting, which unfortunately doesn't always move lots of product. Beck produced a great, diverse and raw body of work during a 15 year run from the late 60's to the early 80's. He has since then lived the life of a quiet country gentleman, only occassionally coming out with a surprise offering two or three times a decade that will range from techno experimentation to a collection of Gene Vincent covers. Eccentric to the core.

Brilliant, astonishing talent, who to my mind never got the recognition he deserved.

One of the first instrumental guitar players and certainly a genius. He set the stage for Vai and company.
