When is he going to apologize to Steve Pagones, the family of Yankel Rosenbaum or the loved ones of those who were burned alive at Freddy's Fashion Mart?

When Pat Robertson was active in the political arena the point of separation of church and state and governing by a theocracy was often discussed. Those kinds of questions have never been brought up whenever Al Sharpton has sought a political office. At first I thought it might have been a slight against Pat Robertson but I soon came to realize most people understand the only God Al Sharpton serves looks back at him in the mirror.

HBO's Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel showed a 1983 FBI videotape in which Al Sharpton is seen talking about laundering drug money with former mobster Michael Franzese (now a undercover-FBI informant) posing as a cocaine dealer.  Sharpton thought there was  nothing wrong with what he did. Sharpton claimed the tape was a "total attempt to set up and criminalize people," that it was leaked to hurt his possible presidential bid, and that Real Sports distorted the evidence by showing only selected portions of the tape. 

Two words:  Tawanna Brawley.

He can get away with saying a racist comment because he is black but whites would not get away with it and it is not fair, when something doesn't go their way blacks point the other finger and blame whites for unethical events such as what happened with hurricane Katrina and blame it on racism. It is absolutely unfair that black people can get away with making prejudice comments or remarks and white people cant and if they do, watch out brother you want hear the end of it. This has not only happened with hurricane Katrina but with the law for mandatory license for voting, blacks were saying that they are making that law just so black people want be able to vote...Their are some things that I don't like but I don't cry about it and blame it on black people just because things don't go my way, and Im getting sick of it allready.

Al's complete lack of credentials are matched by networks lack of scruples in evening mentioning his name and by his black supporters who support him, regardless of obvious inadequacies, only because he is black. I don't know if that's racial but it is stupid. Any person or group who wants to advance uses tools or methods that might work - making a statement with a vote is futile, infantile, and merely an emotional expression. Feels good but does nothing. Minorities should get smart and work in the arenas where the power is - power will accrue over time. Politics is the art of the possible, not the arena of the mouthpieces and showoffs. Al is a fool and probably a felon. Why would anyone want him to have a government position?

Look, Sharpton said a lot of things that needed to be said, and were unpopular to say during the primaries. He added humor and sarcasm to an otherwise pretty boring process. He is a bit of a nut, but I think he's a good guy, with all the best comebacks in political history!

He's trying to make an about face and beocme someone of substance in U.S. politics. Maybe.

Sharpton running for president is like a sick joke. What's sicker is that the Democrats give this turkey some respect and Kerry is even going to let him give a speech at the Demonuts convention. For you undecided voters, the only thing you need to remember is that he's in the Democratic party. Nuff said!

Reverend 911 Al Sharpton is nothing but a race baiting poverty pimp. I saw the Democratic debate the other night where he entraped Howard Dean on a question about his hiring practices as Governor of Vermont. Now considering the fact that Vermont is approximately 98.8 percent white, it is difficult to employ blacks and Hispanics and put them in high positions in state government. The demographics just don't support that. That was a low blow that wasn't really fair. Of course, that's what Al Sharpton has always been about. Remember Tawana Brawley? Reverend 911 didn't even bother to check his facts and it turns out that Brawley had wrongly accused a white man of assaulting her. The issue at hand was racial; we need to quit obsessing over race so much. Sharpton only opens up these old wounds that have begun healing. Now the man thinks that he can take the reigns of the civil rights movement by running for President like Jesse Jackson did 20 years ago. It's very hard to imagine this man as President. He doesn't know about anything, just read his book, it's the egocentric rant of a man whose solutions to our national problems consist of ingenuous rhymes. His one foreign policy accomplishment is befriending Fidel Castro. Of course, he won't be President. This is just a publicity ploy.

I'm not going to talk about Sharpton, here, because I think he has as much chance of being president as I do, but I want to take some issue with jgls, and his comment about Don King's integrity. Look, my friend, the next time you want to negatively compare someone's integrity, pick a better example than Don King. The only reason King has legs is so he doesn't leave a trail of slime behind him.

Oof, heres an anomoly. Though on the surface he appears very liberal but his personal views do not reflect his policies. On gay rights he says let people choose whether to sin or not. On abortion he says abortion is wrong but let the woman choose. As usual I agree with most of his views on corporations such as runaway deregulation being the primary factor in corruptio etc. Also I like the idea curing the economy by building infrastructure. He's quite funny when he says I want to privatize only one thing: George Bush. He seems to (in my view) have hit the nail right on the head as far as the economic and foriegn policy side of things go. However as I said before, his personality is just so volaitile I would find it hard to back him up. Having said that he may actually represent the only true left of the democratic party...

Very funny guy. He makes watching the debates more fun. We all know he dosn't have a chance, but I enjoy watching the debates and waiting for what he has to say. He sure has a way with words. (I thought America was past the "color" code.)

In St. Louis this weekend, held a protest because 12 of 15 schools shut down had high majority black enrollment, even though these schools had enrollment, attendence, and academic issues and the schools themselves were falling apart. Doesn't care about the problems of anyone accept blacks.

I'd love to see this guy as the Democratic candidate. We'd have a presidential race worth watching. No, I wouldn't vote for him but he's the most interesting guy from the party. Everyone else are clones of the Clintons. I really got a kick out of seeing his blood boil when the other candidates tried to tell him he shouldn't run and just support them. This just shows the hypocricy of the Democrats considering they say they represent the black population.

The only issues Sharpton cares about are racial issues. A president needs to have more experience and something more to say. If he were president I would leave the country.

If this guy were to be nominated, Bush would by a landslide. He is FAR too liberal in every single one of his political views. He needs to take care of that addiction to cameras and microphones before even trying to run for office. He's on TV for lipservice and at least for me, entertainment only.
