Another pebble on the highway of politics, Campbell has the dubious distinction of being the first woman Prime Minister. Taking over an administration crippled by the scandalous Mulroney ministry, her modest skills were no match for the tidal wave of voter anger that swept over her and her party. In the greatest disaster a governing party has suffered in Canada, the Conservatives were reduced to two seats.

What a forgettable chapter in Canadian Politics. A lightweight who was simply too small and too shallow for the job, and who had the great misfortune to follow in the footsteps of an arrogant, sleazy Mulroney government that had led the Conservative party down the road to ruin.

I give her a 2 only becuase there was nothing she did during her brief tenure that could even rate as OK. She assumed the office upon the departure of her predecessor, but in effect was put at the helm of a sinking ship. She announced a cabinet, signed a few Orders-in-Council and then called an election. She never faced Parlaiment as Prime Minister and almost half of her 3 months as leader of the country was spent on the campaign trail, where she lead her party to a resounding defeat. There is very little by which to assess her performance as Prime Minister.

She had lots of potential but her party was wiped out and she lost her job.

Yes, served a short time, but not all her fault, she could have been better given different circumstances.
