I'll give him 3 because he's from my dad's hometown of Baie Comeau, Quebec.

A sleazy, venal, bag of greed who led what may have been the most corrupt gang in modern Canadian politics. Effectively sold his country down the river.

It's time Canada stopped whining about politics, and gave some respect to their Elder statesmen. This Shreiber stuff is Canadian dirty laundry, that the world is laughing at- mulroney was always held in esteem on the world stage. Now the world is laughing at Canada for adopting Schreiber-criminal extraordinaire. get real Canada.

A faithful canadian and a great, visionary and honest politician

Arrogant, egotistical and slimy. He destroyed the Conservative party and paved the way for the Liberal dynasty which followed.

When I heard Lyin' Brian's smarmy tribute to the dead commie Boris Yeltsin on CBC today, I almost threw up. He wanted us to remember Yeltsin as a great man!!! How about his history as not only a slobbering, semi-literate, vodka snorting communist, but a butchering thug who oversaw the imprisonment and murder of untold thousands of political dissidents and opponents? Great man? Yeah right. Mabey only slightly greater than than superchin himself! Rest in hell Boris! Mike MacDonald Toronto

A prime example of an over-inflated ego. When his arrogance became apparent, thanks to Peter C., he ran to his lawyer once again. Suck it up Brian, at least you got your wish to get into the spotlight once again. And don't worry, we already knew what Peter wrote, you are a whining crybaby, with an exagerated sense of importance.

He will be remembered for, inter alia: Free Trade, good neighbourliness vis a vis the USA,opposition to South African apartheid. Guts.

He was a good PM but thought too far ahead. He was not a Hate American PM and that drove a good portion of our northern brethren crazy.

He isn't something too special. but he had the future in mind. Face it, the United States is not evil nor are they a complete opposite of us. Though we have typically been more of a peacekeeping nation, we also have too many similarities to overlook, after all, there is no other country that we trade with more. Really you can talk about how anti-USA you are, but who's movies do you go to? Who's TV stations do you watch? Who's cars do you buy? And lastly, which country creates more jobs (other than Canada itself) for Canadians? When it comes to good or evil, who is evil? The US opposers (mostly terrorists and downright horrible human beings) or the Americans. It all comes down to, when the world is at war, who's side do you want to be on? It's simple, we need the US more than they need us. Face it, the future is globalization.

Disliked by the majority of Canadians who misunderstand economics. Brought down the overall price of goods and services with the signing of NAFTA, gaining Canada almost unrestricted access to the most voracious and affluent market in the world. NAFTA was, unfortunately, another unpopular decision despite obvious benefits to the economy. Brought in GST to compensate, in part, for lost tariffs and duties - revealing a hidden 'tax' that was always there, and is reviled for that. Mulrooney is proof that Canadians don't appreciate forthright politicians who consider the long term effects of their decisions.

Sell out! Made us identify with the evil empire (USA) as bretheren when we are really opposite cultures (war vs peace)
JMG 07/19/2004
He played a role, with P.M. Thatcher and President Reagan, in bringing down the evil empire.
Creamy Goodness 10/22/2003
He allowed free trade, he raised taxes, added GST, and oppressed the rights of natives. Brian Mulrooney is the biggest jerk in Canada.
