By golly, he designed Canada's flag. That is his lasting legacy. I think that the Canadian Flag was Pearson's personal flag.

Canada didn't have a national flag. It had the old British Red Ensign with the arms emblazoned on the fly of the flag. The French didn't like that, so Pearson came up with the new flag.

He was undynamic, uncharismatic, unappealing--just what Canada ordered!

Canada's best Prime Minister. He accomplished a lot while PM. He gave Canada it's own flag, brought in Medicare (with the Tommy Douglas), and kept Canada out of Vietnam.

Won the Nobel Peace prize before getting into elected politics. Proved a little befuddled, although not inept. Never won a majority government, his best known achievement was changing the Canadian flag.
