True enough, but it doesn't strike me as particularly inspirational.

The prelude to Kennedy's vision and Nixon's policy of detente' with the Soviet Union at the height of the Cold War. In the wake of the Cuban Missile Crisis, Kennedy was deeply concerned with the reality of a possible nuclear confrontation with the world's other great superpower, and with the signing of the Nuclear Test Ban Treaty took the first major step towards achieving detente'. Kennedy was quite eloquent in communicating the urgent need to halt the arms race and give peace a chance. It certainly would've been interesting to see how things would've turned out had Kennedy lived and Khrushchev not been overthrown a year later.
