Maybe for him, but we were spared 10 years of seeing him try to act.

THE worst career move of all time. Many kids have gotten killed while doing an impression of this career move by jumping off roofs and landing on their heads.

Such a bad move they mocked it on South Park. "Ike! Do your impression of David Caruso's career!"

This guy should be the poster boy for this list.

Aww, leave him alone. I think he is a very talented actor and his character in NYPD blue was fantastic. You trusted him just like you trust Horatio Caine. True, he did get a little big for his boots, but we all make mistakes and we all can be a little full of ourselves sometimes. I'm pretty certain he regrets it now and I'm sure he's learned his lesson. Give him a break and stop whining. He's Here to stay. For which i am very grateful.

Sorry - I loved David in NYPD Blue and I love him in CSI Miami..... And for sure others do to - just look at the ratings. CSI Miami is always in the top ten and usually in the top 5. (Last week it was #2!) Those who have less than positive comments - maybe you're jealous of the RED HAIR!

Bad yes, but I never liked this guy in anything he ever did. EDIT: it really doesn't have anything to do with his appearance, if I were to pick my favorite from NYPD I'd go with the heavy set guy, he was a far better actor and on CSI, Miami Caruso was just as boring as he was on NYPD. On CSI in vegas, I really like Grissom, and find him very sexy, and it's not because of how he looks, it's rarely ever that; more of his moods and intelligence that makes him stand out.

. . .all of a sudden he believed he had some incredible clout in Hollywood. . .he'll be coming soon to a late-night TV movie near you. . .

He slipped out of his contract and was barred from the small screen for awhile because of it. Personally, I think his head just got so big they couldn't shoot scenes with him with one or more other actors. Since his dreams of major stardom bombed, I see he's high tailed it back to the tube. I don't really know how this all affected his acting career in the long run. However, I do think his acting is still pretty affected.

This was probably the best thing that did happen to NYPD blue. David Caruso should do ALL of us a favor and leave television and entertainment all together...a talentless hack...

NYPD Blue got much much better after this no talent louse left. Gee what did he do after he left? He did not have a real hit until almost 10 years later with CSI Miami.
