I hear you Molfan. I've never done this either. I may be interested in something someone else has, but only if I wanted one in the first place and wonder if they're happy with the one they bought. I'm especially interested if it's a larger purchase like electronics or kitchen appliances. But I know people who always feel that they have to have the deluxe model of brand XYZ because everyone whose anyone has brand XYZ. An attitude like that could drive you nuts.

NO not really. I can not think of a time where I have bought something to one up another person. I may see something someone got I like and may get something like it too< But not BETTER than theirs{at least not on purpose} I never have cared about having something better than someone else. I DO know of people who do this. theirs always has to be better than someone elses.{and they always mention how much they payed for it} who cares.?
