Don Evans 2

Commerce Secretary Don Evans is a nice guy but basically he's just a Bush family crony. He was one of Bush's buddies back in 1975 when he was in Midland looking for productive oil wells. He was the CEO of an oil company until then Governor Bush appointed him to head the Texas Board of Regents, an advisory body with no real power. Since the early days, Evans has been primarily a hanger oner to Bush. As Commerce Secretary, he hasn't really contributed much to the debate about trade or economic policy. Seems to me that the people who stay around the longest in the Bush Administration are those who lack good ideas.
