A poor actor with a lousy voice. His first major film where he was a Russian spy was pretty good. Everything after was not very good. Dances with Wolves was O.K. thanks to everyone else in the film.

I like kevin Costner, he's a good actor who's tried many different genres of roles to play and he's usually done them rather well.

What's his obsession with cowboy/country movies? Even his movie The Untouchables, which was supposed to be set in Chicago, took a side trip to the Canadian border country. I think he's an idiot...

Costner gets a bad rap. It pretty much started with Waterworld, a movie a lot of people decided they didn't like before he was even done filming it. This all grew with The Postman, a long movie many decided they didn't like without seeing it. He's proved he can still make good movies, like Long Range, but a many have already written him off.

Again, he's an entertainer. Generally speaking, how seriously are we supposed to take those in the entertainment industry? What day-to-day impact do they have on society compared to doctors, educators, engineers-people who have a direct impact on society? Too many individuals in the entire world are too caught up in their fascination with stars.

Im a big Fan. Open Range, one of his latest efforts really hit the mark in my opinion for authenticity. Its got probably one of the best Town shoot out scenes ever filmed. The Guns really sound like guns which soes not really happen in film much. His films where he directed tend to push his vision for detail a little too much sometimes but that is his style.

I guess he would be up there with the average Hollywood star.As far as movies go,I can't believe he is not getting his props for Dances with Wolves,JFK,The Untouchables,Robin Hood Prince of Thieves and Wyatt Earp, these were some very solid movies.

I enjoyed his last movie (I think it was his last movie) Open Range, but then I love westerns so maybe I'm biased. I think overall he's a pretty good actor, but sometimes he seems to lack passion. There are a lot worse actors than Costner.

he had some good movies but his time in the spotlight just ended quicker than expected. if he can find the right roles for him to play he might be able to pull off a comeback.

Even though I don't really care for his movies, or even his acting in the most part, I don't see any reason why he can't be taken seriously most of the time. It isn't always his fault that his movies flop...

Going to a movie recently with my husband, we sat through the usual 20 minutes of previews. One was some horribly bad-looking dramatic western mess of sorts. I leaned over to my husband and jokingly whispered Oh, great, I bet this is a Kevin Costner flick. Literally right after I said that, there he was on the screen, a big huge close up, and me and my husband just burst out laughing. People probably thought we were crazy. His movies just seem to have the same, dull feel to them.

hrrmm..... I really am sorry for this rating.... I did get carried away ;) I do liek him though he was pretty good in a few movies I watched. I dont remember any in particular.... but he was pretty good!

Kevin Costner takes a lot of crap from people but he has made solid movies. Many of them are from earlier in his career, but they're still good. Bull Durham, Field of Dreams, Tin Cup, Dances with Wolves. Open Range, western with Robert Duvall, was also pretty good.

When I can't sleep, I sometimes take Tylenol P.M. If I run out, a good alternative might be a Kevin Costner movie. I'll give him an extra star with the hope that he's not as boring in real life.
