Jesse Jackson will go to great lengths to try to convey the image of a new Martin Luther King. The problem is that Jesse Jackson is doing anyone favors by being like this and he hasn't even come CLOSE to what Dr. King did to change America.

If you're going to judge the quality of his rhetoric and the substance of his activities and accomplishments, he is a joke. Jackson does not get a "1" from me because he did manage to pry loose that USAF African-American fighter pilot who was in the clutches of one of our middle-eastern nemesises back in the 80's. I think they handed him over to Jesse simply to embarrass the Reagan Administration and diffuse the situation. Nonetheless, a good deed that benefits our boys in the armed forces is not insignificant.

How can some whackjob like Jesse Hijackson get ordained as a minister?! Most likely (like one previous poster said) he probably got his degree through some mail-in certificate or something like that.

The guy was never even ordained, and if he has been ordained recently, it was on the internet or something along those lines. Plus you have all the tax fraud charges and embezzeling money. I just can't take this guy seriously as the leader of some benign, non-profit organization. Really more of a liability to the NAACP than an asset.

The Reverend Jesse is pretty much a mudslinger, bomb-thrower, and (Heaven forbid I should be so politically incorrect), almost as bad a racist as Al Sharpton. He's a hypocrite to boot; he pontificates sanctimoniously, and then has an extramarital affair.

This man is a complete joke. At just what church is he the reverend of anyway? This is a man who prides himself in stirring up trouble and keeping racial tension alive and well. After all, if he didn't do that, what would he do for a living?

martin luther king must be spinning in his grave when he sees how little this lightweight, race-baiting philanderer has done and how the civil rights movement for equality has become a cry for victimization and preferential treatment.
