 | Redoedo (39) 09/02/2003 | Jefferson ran against Adams in 1796, and lost, and due to the clause in the Constitution calling for the runner-up to become Vice President, Jefferson became Vice President. He rarely advised President Adams, and disagreed with most of his actions, prompting him to once again run against Adams in 1800. Needless to say, he was not a very supportive Vice Presidents.
