He wasn't veep long enough to make a mark. McKinley was assassinated a few months after TR became veep. Those who palmed him off on the non-entity vice prexy job really shuddered!

I agree with Redoedo in that Roosevelt provided strong leadership after the death of McKinley. As a footnote, I might add that Roosevelt would go on to become one of our most colorful and courageous Presidents. This list, however, should focus more on what the Vice Presidents did for their office. Roosevelt should be discussed as a President, not a Veep.

Just months after Roosevelt became Vice President, McKinley was assassinated. Roosevelt displayed true leadership following the death of the President and provided a smooth transition of power.
