 | magellan (153) 08/30/2007 | He didn't screw anything up, and provided a much needed "straight man" to Clinton's shenanigans. His lurch to the populist left came after him and Clinton parted ways.

 | EschewObfuscation (61) 02/18/2006 | A superlatively effective Vice-President? At what? Re-inventing the government? Oh right. It's a good thing we re-invented something so gargantuan. Must be an idea he picked up at the Buddhist Temple on a fund-raising junket.
THE most or second most effective VP of all?!! Wait, it's that Twilight Zone music again . . .

 | jamestkirk (23) 12/22/2005 | Served two full terms as VP and was part of Clinton's inner circle.

 | Jar-Jar Binks (16) 04/09/2005 | A great asset under the Clinton White House. Gore was well-prepared, organized and did his job as VP.

 | The Biggun (4) 06/30/2004 | As much as I hate to admit it, Al Gore did a fine job as the nation's VP. His particular strength was good character. He became the alter-ego of his his character flawed boss. Say what you want about Gore, but he has kept his nose clean(as far as we know). Unfortunately, in our society today, keeping your nose clean is sometimes a detriment. Had Gore participated in a little late-night White House fun, he may actually be viewed today as a cool President.

 | jgls (12) 12/27/2003 | fiercely loyal as veep, he has no doubt greatly disappointed his former running mate with his tilt to the left and refusal to campaign with the former president.

 | Redoedo (39) 09/02/2003 | He was a very active Vice President and a trusted Presidential adviser. Gore was instrumental in the success of the Reinventing Government Initiative, which led to substantial reforms of government agencies and their functions. During the impeachment trial, contrary to popular belief, Gore actually did express his disapproval of Clinton publically, but he of course was loyal and did not go around preaching on national television and calling for the President's impeachment so he could become President. Gore was a man of much more integrity than Clinton, and I believe that had he not been associated with Clinton and been Vice President under a more moral President, he would've won in 2000. Too bad his whole election campaign was based on ending charisma as we know it.
