so true LA vs SD is a huge rivalry for those of you who do not know. It's a fight for SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA what team and what city is better LA or SAN DIEGO. It's more than just any other rivalry. Southern CA has the weather, the beauty, and the popularity to the whole United States. So we need something else and why not baseball to fight for.

I have never seen any evidence these two teams cared about each other.

If its a rivalry, its a very quiet one.

I guess it's sort of a very minor rivalry in the sense that the nearest team in the league is always a rival of sorts, but even granting that, it's not of the caliber of Red Sox/ Yankees, Cardinals/ Cubs, or Giants/ Dodgers- there's no deep historicity here... Really, what do these two have to fight about? Whose players are trying out the trendiest health food diet? Which team Steve Garvey was, before all the tabloid stuff came down, more of an Apple Pie and Motherhood sort with?

I think this will be a rivalry in a few years, but it has never been before.
