Has never been much of a rivalry at all. The two teams are seldom contenders at the same time, and given that the Pirates just ensured their 17th straight losing season, things don't look to change any time soon.

Probably, to be truthful, not much of a rivalry since the 1970's; the Pirates haven't had a winning year since '92, the Phillies have been inconsistent though pretty good for the most part in this decade, and they're in different divisions now.
