A judicial decision made in a climate of fear and racism, this may well be the worst major ruling of the court.

It legitimized the executive branch's trampling of due-process and effective theft of property.

After Plessy v. Ferguson (1896) and Dred Scott (1857), Hirabayashi v. United States was possibly the worst decision rendered by the United States Supreme Court. Franklin D. Roosevelt's Executive Order No. 9066 was a gross attempt to impose restrictions on people based on their ancestry and/or appearance- and with little regard to their loyalty and contribution to the United States. However, the blame ought to be equally given to the Justices who rendered Roosevelt's powers to be constitutional as they essentially allowed racial profiling. It was this decision which violated Americans of Japanese ancestry's right of due process, and for which many families never fully recovered.

Probably THE stupidest, most clearly unconstitutional law ever passed that the Courts upheld. Hmmm.... is the federal government forcing individuals into camps based on their race against any Amendments you know of? Like just about all of them?!
