While much of Aristotle's work was flawed, his range of accomplishment in every branch of human knowledge is so great that it surpassed all those who came before or after. The modern division of intellectual labor is inherited from Aristotle, who pushed human knowledge to the point where a single person could no longer possess universal knowledge. To remedy this problem, Aristotle founded the Lycaeum, the first proto-University/Research Institute, where scientists and scholars could share knowledge and collaborate for the common good. Unfortunately, Aristotle's work was so impressive that it became a brake on progress; from shortly after his death until the Renaissance, 'Aristotelian' doctrine was holy writ, and scientific progress was limited to a handful of fields (optics, engineering, medicine, astronomy).

Showed the world how to think, in logical orders, which is a critical accomplishment and incredibly important. Doesn't seem to have had more than a sporadic effect among RIA contributors unfortunately.

No human has covered more areas of thought and had more influence than this man. He developed the scientific method; his philosophy was ascribed to all of Christianity as well as a spark to the Renaissance; his manifesto on literature has been, and continues to be, the standard; and he has originated more thought in many other areas as well. He is the true Philosopher; and by Philosopher I mean, as Aristotle described, a completive being that uses reason in all areas of life.

Emphasized how to win arguments using LOGOS-Logic, Ethos-Ethics, or morals, and more importantly...Pathos, emotions. Finding the balance of these three is the key to winning any argument, debate, and to an extent, a political campaign. Now I don't know whether this is correct, but it is rumoured that Aristotle was both A philosopher and a mathematician.

Right up there with Jesus Christ, though most people don't realize it, for the influence of Aristotle is in the way you THINK, using logic, arranging thoughts in heirarchies, and in innumerable other ways great and small. A minor caveat is that this applies to people who DO think.
