If it weren't for Fleming, most of us wouldn't be reading my statement because we'd be dead. Fleming developed penicillins for many of the diseases that plague us today. Without these medicines, the average length of life throughout the would would drop 10 - 20 years. It is through his discoveries that we can research and develop new, better things which strengthen our longevity.
