Like most of the Spaniards who came to the New World, a thorough bastard. Greedy, and as full of sin as a Borgia Pope, he eventually got what was coming to him, but not before doing the usual dago damage to the Americas. Not as bad as Cortes, but that's not saying much.

Mean dude. Held the ruler of the Incas for ransom, then when he received his room of gold, killed the ruler anyway.

A greed-crazed barbarian who destroyed one of the most beautiful and unique civilizations in the Western Hemisphere. Eventually he was assassinated by a group of other greedy Spaniards, but since even in his sixties he was a skilled swordsman he was able to kill several of them before they cut him to pieces. He pretty much got what he deserved.
