If you have an ax to grind you should take that up with the office your girl or boy friend was working for. Speak very carefully for you are treading on slander. Please submit proof, or can't you. Sales are sales,
your opinions are just that yours. Sounds like you have an ax to grind

Kdesigners 3

K-Designers uses a sales tactic whereby they position their sales reps as advertising executives called "marketing directors" whose sales presentation deceptively tries to convince the homeowner that their home has been selected as a promotional home and the "marketing director" has a budget of "advertising dollars" that he can put into the homowner's home in exchange for advertising commitments. But the homeowner has to decide that day, before the "marketing director" leaves their home, otherwise his "advertising dollars" will be spend on someone else's home in this neigborhood, because he has a deadline to meet before the "marketing campaign" will begin.

Of couse none of this is true. There is no limited time for the homeowner to decide, because all homes are promotional homes. The "retail price" is jacked up so high that a massive discount will bring it to a still higher price than most of K-designers competitors.

If you can stand the deception and sit through this charade, then it should be noted that K-Designers does quality work. They install quality products (LBL windows and Paul Revere siding), and they get the project done in about a months time.

The best strategy for doing business with them is never to decide that day that the "marketing director" makes a presentation in your home. According to a former marketing director that I dated a few times (and there are many "former K-designer marketing directors" our there) K-Designer's bottom line is 70% off the retail price. Such a deal may not get approved by management if it was miscalculated by the "marketing director" very few of them have been with the company more than 6 months and they make mistakes.

The best thing to do is keep counter offering a 60% discount from retail price. It would be helpful if you had a few bids before you saw a presentation by K-designers. Don't worry about the promotion "expiring" it never will; some "marketing director" will always be happy to write up some buisness with you down the road. The only way to get a real gage of the bottom line is for the "marketing director" to give you his final offer, but he is trained to make like 15 of them in a way that seems final, so the only way to know is to wait for the one before he leaves your home. Get his card and write down his cell phone number. call him the next day and tell him you'll buy. (assuming the offer is near 60% less than retail) The marketing director will only get a $100 commission for such a deal, but will be happy to write up any business. Again most of them are trainees starving to sell. They are all subcontractors and paid by commission only.

some fun questions to ask during the presentation: How many homes have you sold at the retail price? Are all homes promotional homes? and How long have you been a marketing director at K-designers?
