I liked some of the early acts in this genre: The Sex Pistols, Ramones, Clash, and The Buzzcocks, and also especially the proto-punk bands like The Stooges and MC5. I don't like the neo-punk groups of the 90's though, and with a few exceptions, new wave is really not my kind of thing.

I think Punk is fantastic, classics all rock, but only some fo the newer bands are any good. Best newbies are Green Day and Rancid.
