im almost 40 and still wear mine

I will never forget the day I was walking around a local dime store with my mother and sister and saw a stack of these! I couldnt have been more thrilled if someone had given me a $20 bill. At the time, one of our local affiliate TV stations was re-running the Mickey Mouse Club during the afternoons on a program called The Bill Jackson Show. Along with just about every kid on our block my sister and I were huge fans and never missed it. Still, I had no idea such a wonderful thing was available to the general public until I happened upon them in the store that day (obviously, kid-focused mass marketing was in its infancy). It didnt take much begging to get mom to buy us each a pair. Amazing how a little bit of black felt and plastic can seem so magical when youre eight years old.
