 | vadallen (1) 07/08/2008 | Good honest effort by Mr. Lazenby, but not up to the standards. Scottish man Connery blew up his chance to wear a kilt and become the only true Bond forever: with him it mightve been in the 1st place because one-day tragic marriage gives this movie a unique romantic flavor.

 | wjones007 (0) 06/10/2008 | Goerge Lazenby was no Bond. This could have been a good movie with Connery. Bond came dangerously close to jumping the shark in this movie.

 | GenghisTheHun (181) 11/17/2007 | This is a good entry with George Lazenby as Bond and get this, Telly Savalas, as Blofeld! Another twist, Bond marries a contessa, Diana Rigg!
Lots of good action in this flick.

 | IPW (0) 05/06/2007 | The best locations, the most intelligent script, the best Bond girl, and the best John Barry score. Even Lazenby doesnt do that bad a job. A quality Bond film should be first and foremost an intelligent period piece ~ this ticks all the right boxes.

 | DrEntropy (40) 01/22/2007 | Notable chiefly for camp value (Australian male model George Lazenby as Bond, Telly Savalas as Dr. Evil). Embarassing dialogue, uneven pacing, lame 'action' scenes and a ridiculous plot: Her Majesty's Secret Service, in a nutshell. 90% of 'Austin Powers' is a take-off on this film.

 | Kory (0) 04/24/2005 | The movie on the whole is ok - it has a couple of great action sequences on the Alps. The villian's role is better than in many other Bond films. The main problem is this - while viewing the movie, one wastes a lot of time trying to come to terms with George Lazenby as Bond. The background music is not too great either - just doesn't give the right feel for a Bond movie.

 | Daccory (15) 10/05/2004 | Iliked this film, the ski sequences, the music and action and thought Lazenby did a good job. Someone told me he got too big for his boots though and Cubby Broccoli fired him which is why Connery came back. Don't know how true that is, but I still rate the film.

 | VirileVagabond (38) 04/01/2004 | On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969) was the sixth in the 007 series and the only film to feature George Lazenby in the role of James Bond. While some viewers consider this the best of the Bond films, I have never liked the feel of this movie. The editing and cinematography is choppy, and the colors look bland to me as well. While Lazenby's acting is good, he just does not have the same character of 007 that the fans have come to expect. Bond also gets married to his love interest (played by Diana Rigg) which is out of character as well and causes some awkward moments in subsequent films. The final flaw in my opinion is that this installment is sandwiched between You Only Live Twice (1967) and Diamonds Are Forever (1971), both of which feature Sean Connery (who set the standard) as Bond. On the plus side, Diana Rigg as Tracy Draco provides better acting from a Bond Girl than is the norm in the series. The bottom line is that this film just does not have the same feel as the rest of the series and strays too far from many of the things that make the series so popular (eg cool gadgets).

 | jamestkirk (24) 12/11/2003 | An underrated movie. A great script, excellent villian (Telly Savalas is excellent in this film), fantastic setting. This film would have been remembered as possibly one of the best had Sean Connery been in it instead of George Lazenby.

 | chartres (0) 11/05/2003 | OHMSS is an honorable failure, done in by bad casting and plot elements that don't fit together. It was worth a try to shake up the formula, but having Bond marry was clearly a red herring.
