Octopussy (1983) 4

Pretty Good Bond film. But they could of found a better way to have Roger Moore defuse the bomb dressed up as clown. I thought that was kind of stupid. But overall, it was a good movie.

Octopussy (1983) 3

With only a couple of not cool things its hard to tell exactly whats wrong with it. The story is quite intriguing, but it kind of drags through and just never gets exciting. Even with exotic places and great stunts, all this put together looks too boyish, like in a teens movie.

Octopussy (1983) 4

The best of the Roger Moore Bond entries. What is better than a yo-yo saw, a miniature jet and the knife-throwing-circus-twins? Answer: not much.

Octopussy (1983) 3

One of the weaker films overall among those made in Roger Moore's tenor. The film is a bit staggered. The palace location in India is good. This ideally should have been Roger Moore's last Bond film since he seemed a bit tired in the role.

Octopussy (1983) 4

Octopussy (released in 1983) was Roger Moore's next to last appearance as James Bond and is one of his better performances in the role. On the plus side, even though the main plot is Cold War era, it still holds up rather well. The jewel smuggling scheme intertwined with a plot to destabilize the NATO defense structure twists and turns enough to support Bond's globe trotting (this time in India and Germany) and provides for a well paced movie and a logical, yet complex storyline. This overall structure also allows for a colorful cast of villains from an Afghan prince to knife throwing Russians. Octopussy's lair and organization also provides more than enough Bond Girls to satisfy most any man's sweet tooth. Finally, Q also arms 007 with plenty of nifty gadgets to sate most any weekend engineer and secret agent. On the downside, Moore is starting to look his age which was first apparent in the previous For Your Eyes Only (1981) and undeniable in the subsequent A View To A Kill (1985), which means Octopussy should have been his last outing as Bond. Also, after a great frantic and suspenseful climax when Bond defuses the bomb, the movie lingers a bit longer than it should at the end.
