Sunnyslope Mennonite Church 4

I know this church and I've been there a few times. I just read a recent review that does not seem fair . I am involved in a men's living facility that this church started. This church is not your standard mennonite or conservate church. They seem to be people that really care about reaching out to their neighboorhood. Their skateboard ministry draws a big mix to church and I've personally heard them sharing the message of Christ on a loudspeaker to 100 neighborhood kids at a time. Their church is filled with a diverse group that has not been attending church for their entire lives, so I guess they all haven't learned the "rules". Slamming a church on the web does nothing to help spread the word of God. Like any church and like any person they are not perfect, but I see them trying more than most churches I've been around. If you have suggestions for a church to improve, talk to the pastor or send a private letter. Help them ... don't just knock them down on the internet and hurt their witness

We just visited this church about 2 or 3 weeks ago we have several small children . We were recommend to this church by some family from Iowa and was very disappointed in the way people even the minister approached us .No one showed us the nusery or where the children would go to Sunday School or cared to tell us where the adult classes where meeting .
I was born and raised in a small Mennonite community in Iowa and was very disppointed how these city mennonites handle people coming into there churches .
I believe that fellowship is 100 % on how people perceive your church from the time they enter to they leave and this church lacks this and lacks greeting new people with information on how there church runs .Unfortunately we will not be going back .
So my suggestion to them is train your people and make sure that visitors have the right guidance and directions on where your nusery and sunday school classes are located and not to be into themselves .
My husband is a youth pastor and just felt strongly that this church lacks anything to offer young children and even maybe young youth but since we do not have young adults we can't really say anything towards that area of the church .
The music was so loud and then when the service began the people around us were adults and they were so noisy that we barely could here the minister .Yes these were adults not children .
The children get up and down and people were drinking coffee and texting on cell phones
I guess maybe where we come from none of that is allowed you drink your coffe and turn off your cell phones thats respecting God .
But you might enjoy that kind of church as for us we go to learn about God and get inspired by the Lords word .
Remeber when someone walks through your church doors greet them like you would Jesus and treat them like you would Jesus .
May God bless that church and show them his way .
