Not being an authority on all the Star Trek series, and being about as far from a "Trekker" as one person could be, I found this series to be dramatic and interesting - imaginative and edgier than other Star Trek series I have sampled. With maybe the worse choice for a Main Title song in the history of sci-fi TV, this is the only Trek series that held my interest with some great writing and incredible "bottle episodes" (In this series, the bottle shows were where much of the action takes place in a single location, usually between two characters sometimes trapped or marooned. The series isn't helped by the limited talents of the likeable but puddle-deep performance of Scott Bakula - or the even shallower performance of model turned actress Jolene Blalock as the most beautiful Vulcan on TV. (I did notice her growth as an actress as the series progressed, in the same way I saw Gillian Anderson come into her own after a few seasons of X Files) Add to that the annoying characterization of the ship's doctor, John Billingsley, who I wanted to strangle by the second season -- there is something in the writing here that kept me coming back until the very end, so I would have to categorize it, in my own perception, as one of the strongest and most intelligent of the Star Trek entries.

Midly disappointing ST should have went farther into the future instead of the past, with weirder stuff. Connor Trineer and Bakula were good though.

Despite the fact that Scott Bakula was cringeworthy in this, I enjoyed this series, perhaps more in SPITE of him. I was sorry to see this series end. Trip is still one of my favorite star trek characters.

This Star Trek spinoff is getting better than when it started, but still can improve. But, it is a well-done, well-written show. At least its now officially Star Trek Enterprise!!!! Now, if we can just get a Voyager or TNG crossover...
