Only made it to Season Three, in all honesty, but it wasn't the writing that stopped me finally, Stargate SG-1 is a prime example of how important casting is. Because the often times interesting and literate Star Trek like scripts are usurped by the glaring limitations of the lead actors: specifically the handsome but incredibly limited Richard Dean Anderson and the female lead Amanda Tapping. The writing is strong and interesting, and performances by the stronger members of the cast, like Christopher Judge, reveal that show after show, a good concept and terrific imagination can suffer from the absolute blandness of casting.

I believe this is the longest Sci fi series ever created (10 seasons) and it stood at the top all the time. The series ended likely because the producers got tired of it, because there were many loose ends that could have been exploited for new episodes. either way, one of the best series ever.

Really Ok to good, it was well made, not too corny or stupid, Anderson was a perfect wise ass,I really liked Claudia Black in this show, Jackson, teal'c and even Walter were good, but I liked Davis as the Commander, when he left, the show missed him and Anderson.

It used to be better...I miss Janet but Amanda Tapping keeps me coming back ... at least some of the Friday nights.

This show rocks I hope it never goes off the air. And for you people who think that SciFi shows are just for geeks (my wife). Just sit down and watch this show from the start it will change your opinion.

Every once in a while I will come across this show on tv and I actually enjoy it. I always find myself watching the entire show without getting bored, but unfortunately I never remember it afterwards and forget that it is on tv. So therefore I can't rate it more than ok. The acting in the show is top quality...
