I wish this crap could still honestly be called "elevator music" ... because I could always decide to take the stairs. Now it's in almost every retail place, making it much harder to avoid. It's bad enough for us customers, but I can only imagine the daily torments it must cause any sensitive music listener who also happens to work in retail. Who decided for us that silence isn't golden?

Most of the people reviewing this product only seem to have limited experience with the Muzak line of products. I have been using their system for almost 4 years and am very pleased with the content they provide. Muzac offers dozens of categories to choose from and people complaining that the music sounds like Elevator Music are obviously choosing the wrong category.

The idea is as ugly as the name is. Thankfully, muzak isn't played outside of elevators for a good cause.

Hey, I need something to listen to while in a elevator.

I think Enkidu, in suggesting that the inventor of Muzak deserves the gas chamber, is totally unfair. I humbly submit that said inventor should be drawn and quartered after a lengthy session with a Spanish inquisitor. After all, thats what I feel like is happening to me when I hear this crap.

i think i actually heard a muzak version of ac/dc's highway to hell.

A tool for desensitizing you to the most beautiful abstract art form ever created by the human spirit. Whoever invented this abomination deserves the gas chamber.

Yeah, who was the twisted idiot who decided we needed to hear sub-standard remakes of classic songs constantly? There are times when I'd like to crush the receiver of my phone when I'm on hold and it usually isn't the irritation of waiting that brings on this impulse - it's how someone screwed up one of my old favorite tunes.

If you're feeling under the weather - say you're hung over or you're sick - and you work in a place with Muzak... eventually you could swear that you feel your brains dripping out of your ears. Curse the person who thought this was a good idea.
