The idea behind the Apple Lisa was exciting: this was one of the first GUI (Graphical User Interface) personal computers. GUI is great; that concept makes computers user-friendly today because graphical interfaces allow users to form cohesive mental models about how their computer works, and how information is organized within it (e.g. files, folders, etc). The problem was, Apple Lisa price (nearly $10,000 in Jan. 1983) made them unattainable for many people.
