Yes we are definately insane about some football in Alabama. Between Auburn, Alabama, Troy, and UAB we have four teams in bowls this year. That's all our division I-A teams.

Alabama can't even seriously consider sponsoring an NFL team because the local yahoos are so wrapped up in Auburn-Alabama football. The hype that goes into this annual gridiron contest is pathetic. The weekend following 9-11, Alabama was scehduled to play against an out-of-state college. Diehard Alabama fans actually tried to tail-gate at Bryant-Denny Stadium and then got mad when the players and the coaches decided NOT to play out of repect for those who died. One lady said that she did not understand WHY the game was cancelled and even wanted to know what 9-11 had to do with Alabama football. She was pitifully heartless and ignorant and a good example of what's wrong with this state today.
